Pool A taking shape

As the calendar nears the end of October, the Pool A standings are beginning to move into focus.

Leaders BCU will fancy their chances of moving to 5-0 this weekend as they head to 0-4 Teesside Lions, one of only two winless sides so far. The other, Oxford Hoops, have a home date with Sheffield Sharks II and Charles Andrews (feature image).

3-0 Manchester Magic are without a game, allowing plenty of attention in the North West for a pair of 2-1 sides, St Helens Saints and Leicester Warriors, to go at it on Sunday afternoon.

With the Magic out of action, Liverpool can move into second place if they can best Cardiff Met Archers, who did start 0-3 before a Shayne Scruggs-inspired win against Teesside last time out.

Pool B challengers emerge

With last season's top duo in D2, Barking Abbey and Solent Kestrels, both taking the weekend off, that opens the door for other Pool B sides to make a charge up the standings.

Barnet Bulldogs are still unbeaten at 2-0 and own D1M's hottest offence at 93.5PPG. They head to 2-1 London Stars on Saturday for what should be an exciting contest.

Greenwich Titans (0-2) and London Elite (0-3) are both winless, but that'll change this weekend as they go head-to-head, and CoLA (1-1) and London Lions (1-2) with both try to pick up a second W of the campaign.

That just leaves Cobham and Richmond to do battle in the lone Pool B clash on Sunday, with both sides knowing they can be just two points off top spot with a victory.
