Standout performances

McCowan's late heroics allowed Barnet to see off Barking Abbey, but there excitement wasn't contained to North London.

Myerscough beat Leicester 70-69 in Pool A, with the Warriors' late comeback falling short by the narrowest of margins.

BCU stayed unbeaten as they eased past Liverpool 85-63, and Solent Kestrels hammered London Lions II 102-46.

Manchester were able to keep their unbeaten tag as well, seeing off Cardiff 76-63, as London Stars and CoLA both picked up valuable Pool B victories.

What does it mean for the standings?

BCU and Manchester remain as Pool A's unbeatens, with Worcester still in the mix ahead of four sides on six points.

Barnet's victory means they are Pool B's only unbeaten side as BA taste defeat for the first time, though Abbey are still well-placed alongside London Stars and Solent just two points behind the Bulldogs.

NBL Division One Standings

Player-of-the-week candidates

Robbie McCowan may have hit the late dagger, but it was Barnet's Sable Cooper (25pts, 6reb, 19eff) that looked the pick of the bunch for the Bulldogs, cancelling out a standout performance from BA's Joshua Mendes (27pts, 10reb, 31eff).

Former Player of the Week Samuel Toluwase (29pts, 7reb, 5stl, 30eff) shone for BCU, and Arrows' duo Hamza Ibrahim (39pts, 9reb, 6ast, 42eff) and Diogo Soares (24pts, 11reb, 5ast, 3stl, 2blk, 37eff) both went off against Oxford Hoops.

Regular standout, Worcester's Earl Burgess, is also in the mix after his 23-point, 14 rebound double-double for the Wolves against Teesside.

Watch out for the winner on our social channels, with the announcement going live at 5pm on Monday evening.

NBL National Cup

Seven of the eight scheduled NBL National Cup games concluded on Sunday, with all the winners plus Yorkshire Dragons or Manchester Magic going into the hat for the quarter-finals.

Former champs Solent Kestrels had no problems seeing off Brent Bulls 100-49, and BCU eased past Gloucester City Kings 60-51 to keep their hopes alive.

Barking bounced back from their league loss to Barnet with a commanding 75-59 victory over London Stars, and St Helens beat Sheffield Sharks II 76-71 in another all-D1 affair.

Oaklands Wolves (97-61 vs Cambridge Cats) and Sussex Storm (91-82 vs Northamptonshire Titans) both progress as teams from outside the top flight, but D2 Westminster fell 84-71 against London Lions II, ending their run in the process.
