Standout performances
The unbeaten vs winless clash went to form as BCU maintained their spotless start to the year with a 71-53 victory against Teesside Lions in Pool A.
A last-gasp Humberto Ferreira block (embedded above) was enough for Worcester to squeeze by Myerscough 74-72, and the excitement didn't end there as Sheffield Sharks II just held on to beat Oxford Hoops 62-61.
St Helens continued their push for a top-four spot as they beat fellow challengers Leicester Warriors 94-83, but the same can't be said for Liverpool as they fell to a resurgent Cardiff Met Archers, 69-63, for the Archers' second win in a row after three straight losses.
Barnet moved into a share of top spot in Pool B, getting to 3-0 after an 83-71 victory against London Stars.
The thrillers weren't contained to Pool A, either, as London Lions II produced a big fightback to beat CoLA 75-72, and Cobham came through against Richmond 60-58 on Sunday.
What does it mean for the standings?
Unless BCU drop points, they're going to stay ahead of the pack in Pool A, with their lead over the chasing sides now at four points.
Liverpool, Worcester, St Helens and Manchester make up that group as Oxford Hoops and Teesside remain in the bottom two.
Barnet's successful weekend sees them grab a share of top spot in Pool B, with a host of two win teams jostling for position just behind.
Player-of-the-week candidates
There were plenty of standouts from this week's D1M action, starting with Myerscough's Harry Sheehan. He may have been on the losing end of things against Worcester but his 27 points were impressive in the battle against Worcester's Earl Burgess (17pts, 11reb, 19eff).
Sheffield Sharks II's Oscar Baldwin (12pts, 15reb) was busy on the glass for a double-double, and Cardiff's James Dawe shot an impressive 70% for a game-high 18 points to down Liverpool.
Barnet's Chuck Duru (23pts, 4ast, 26eff) in certainly in the mix, as is recent Team of the Week pick Disraeli Lufadeju (24pts, 10reb, 6ast, 5stl, 27eff) for his part in St Helens' win over Leicester.
Watch out for the winner on our social channels, with the announcement going live at 5pm on Monday evening.
