How it works

Each week, a standout player plus four other worthy selections will be put forward to make the Player and Team Of The Week in both D1M and D1W, paying attention to the following criteria:

  • Efficiency
  • Stats
  • Team and opposition strength
  • Periods of influence in the game
  • Being on a winning team (exceptional performances from players on losing teams will be considered for TOTW)

Players of the Week

Hamza Ibrahim was a run-away winner of this week's POTW accolade, putting up some crazy numbers against Teesside Lions.

The Arrows' standout did plenty in the 90-76 win, shooting 59% from the floor (13/22 FG), leading all players on the glass (17rebs), adding a team-high eight assists, and still finding time for a couple of steals. His 45 efficiency was the highest across any player this weekend, making him nailed on for recognition.

CoLA's Ayla Habbal was another stuffing the stat sheet, doing what she does best in Pride's 72-62 road victory in Loughborough.

Dishing a game-high 10 assists, CoLA's talented young guard also dropped 18 points to go with seven boards, plus going a perfect 6/6 from the charity stripe to punish six fouls by the Riders.

D1M Team of the Week

Hamza Ibrahim - Sheffield Arrows (34pts, 17reb, 8ast, 2stl, 45eff)

Earl Burgess - Worcester Wolves (16pts, 11reb, 3ast, 29eff)

Louis Rogerson-Evans - Liverpool (29pts, 5reb, 2ast, 3stl, 2blk, 31eff)

Ryan Martin - London Stars (20pts, 18reb, 6ast, 2stl, 30eff)

Jack Walton - Manchester Magic (24pts, 4reb, 4stl, 24eff)

POTW Ibrahim is an automatic choice - and he is surrounded by a trio of Pool A stars plus a choice from Pool B.

Earl Burgess' points came on 6/7 shooting, plus 11 rebounds for the double-double, and Liverpool's Louis Rogerson-Evans was a menace at both ends of the floor with a well-rounded stat line.

Ryan Martin has already made multiple TOTW appearances despite the calendar only just hitting mid-October, and Manchester's Jack Walton put his scoring qualities on full display to earn the final spot in the five.

Honourable mentions

Diogo Soares - Sheffield Arrows (17pts, 11reb, 7ast, 28eff)
Josh Mendes - Barking Abbey (22pts, 10reb, 2stl, 23eff)
Disraeli Lufadeju - St Helens Saints (18pts, 7reb, 4ast, 2stl, 20eff)

D1W Team of the Week

Ayla Habbal - CoLA Southwark Pride (18pts, 7reb, 10ast, 4stl, 26eff)

Ilaria Zaffaroni - Anglia Ruskin University (22pts, 5reb, 4ast, 20eff)

Tia Freeman - Anglia Ruskin University (26pts, 5reb, 2ast, 18eff)

Kizzy Spence - Manchester Mystics (21pts, 4reb, 13eff)

Eva-Grace Yebila - CoLA Southwark Pride (19pts, 7reb, 2blk, 19eff)

Habbal goes straight into the five, and is joined by team-mate Eva-Grace Yebila after the forward's impressive display in the 72-62 victory over Loughborough.

Anglia Ruskin also put two players forward in the form of Ilaria Zaffaroni and Tia Freeman, with the latter adding 14 points and a steal to ARU's pivotal 27-9 opening quarter. Zaffaroni stood out in the third frame, knocking down four triples to go with a block and an assist.

That leaves Manchester's Kizzy Spence to take the remaining spot, leading all scorers in her side's 63-39 W over Bromsgrove, chipping in a team-high efficiency for good measure.

Honourable mentions

Lily Blunt - Loughborough Riders (9pts, 5ast, 15eff)
Vicky Gray - Anglia Ruskin University (15pts, 11reb, 3ast, 3stl, 19eff)
Veronica Iweanya - Bristol Flyers (11pts, 19reb, 2stl, 14eff)
