U14 Transition Camp gets underway this week

Basketball England's U14 Girls' Transition Camp gets underway this week.

BE is pleased to announce the roster of talented young athletes selected to attend the Under-14 Girls Transition Camp, an exciting new section of the Talent Programme designed to support player development and progression through the National Performance Pathway.

The camp, which takes place on 24 October at Nottingham Wildcats Arena, will provide valuable contact time, skill refinement and holistic development opportunities for players identified as having the potential to transition to the next stage of the England Talent Pathway (ETP).

This initiative also proudly aligns with FIBA’s Her World, Her Rules campaign, which aims to empower and inspire more young girls to play basketball, build confidence, and pursue excellence both on and off the court.

Basketball England's Steve Bucknall

Steve Bucknall, Basketball England’s Head of Talent and Performance, said:

“The Under-14 Transition Camp is an important step in helping our young female players to prepare for the next phase of their basketball journey. It’s not just about improving their technical and tactical understanding, but also about building confidence and leadership in a supportive, high-performance environment.

"The Her World, Her Rules initiative is a great way to celebrate and invest in our young female athletes, ensuring they have the resources, visibility, and encouragement they deserve.”

The Transition Camp will combine on-court sessions, including technical and tactical development, with off-court education, focusing on wellbeing, nutrition, and self-management essential skills for long-term athlete growth.

By providing consistent, structured opportunities to talented young players, Basketball England continues its commitment to developing female talent and strengthening the National Pathway.
