Four games make up D1W's schedule for the weekend, with last season's top four all in action.
Unbeaten leaders Manchester Mystics take the tough trip to CoLA, Ipswich are in action against Bristol, and Bromsgrove head to London All Stars.
Brent are also expected to make their season debut as the last team to get up and running - they entertain Anglia Ruskin in Sunday's only clash.
All teams across the NBL, WNBL and Jnr. NBL will have the opportunity to observe a minute's silence in respect for much-loved coach David Lavinier, who passed away recently.

Brent get going
Last, but by no means least, Brent Bulls get their D1W campaign underway on Sunday as they welcome Anglia Ruskin to University of Westminster.
Beset by venue issues to this point, those are now resolved and the Bulls can begin their efforts at climbing us the standings after a top three finish a year ago.
The likes of Vanessa Akra, Rocky Davids, Saruna Gudza and Kenisha Whyte all return, with Francesca Quinn, Sophie Khlaf and Aoife Ryan moving over from Cobham to boost Brent's numbers.
The departures of Lindsey Cleary and Judit Fritz will surely hurt, though retaining sharpshooting guard Eleanor Bishop for a third year should provide a boost in return.
Ruskin, by comparison, are already well into their season and at 1-2 will be looking to get back to .500 with a win on Sunday.
Tia Freeman and Ilaria Zaffaroni will both be key to that plight, as reigning members of the D1W Team of the Week.
Manchester's early test
There's an early test for Manchester tomorrow as they take their 2-0 record down to CoLA to face a Pride side that is rarely beaten on their own patch.
With a 20-0 forfeit over Bristol and a 63-39 home win against newly-promoted Bromsgrove behind them, playing in SE1 will be a stern examination of the Mystics' current credentials.
CoLA are also sporting the current FocusHoops D1W Player of the Week in Ayla Habbal, who dropped 18 points in the win over Loughborough last time out.
Still trying to move on from their opening day defeat to Worcester, Pride are sure to be going all out in this one as they try to put some fresh momentum together.
HoopsHQ keeps fans in the heart of the action
Basketball England’s new game-day app HoopsHQ is now live and available to download.
HoopsHQ is the one-stop shop for everyone participating and following Basketball England’s leagues and competitions, including the NBL, WNBL and Jnr. NBL.
It means players, coaches and supporters will be able access up-to-the-minute information on games, including – where digital scoring is utilised – live updates. FIBA Live Stats will still be used in relevant NBL and WNBL competitions.
The app will feature scores, standings and fixtures, plus basic player and team stats, and will be where participants' Basketball England licence cards will be hosted for the upcoming season.
