Standout performances
London Cavaliers pressed their claim as title candidates with a gutsy 93-88 victory against Ipswich, further reinforcing their credentials with a 65-53 victory over CoLA in Sunday's only WNBL National Cup game.
Worcester maintained their hot start to the season with an 83-75 road win against struggling Loughborough, and Sophie Khlaf's double-double effort pushed Brent to a 61-39 win against Bristol, who were held to just 16 points through 30 minutes of action (with a blanked third quarter) by the Bulls.
That just left Anglia Ruskin to see off Bromsgrove 54-47, and CoLA to best London All Stars 66-48 as the visitors broke open a close game in the third quarter and never looked back.
What does it mean for the standings?
CoLA's successful weekend keeps them top of the pile as the first team to four wins, whilst Anglia Ruskin have brought around a slow start to join them in the top four.
London Cavaliers victory over Ipswich sees them join the Suffolk side at 2-1, but there will be alarm bells for Loughborough as they remain winless for another week at the foot of the standings.
Player-of-the-week candidates
There were plenty of standout candidates across the weekend, making the choices for weekly honours particularly tough.
Brent's Sophie Khlaf (22pts, 10reb, 24eff) should be in the mix after leading the Bulls to a win, and Worcester's Ciani Montgomery (33pts, 6reb, 3asr, 4stl, 28eff) was a standout for the Wolves against Loughborough, supported by Catarina Seixas' (feature image) 17 points from 4/7 three-point shooting.
Faye Parker collected an impressive seven blocks to go with seven points and 12 boards for ARU, with Janice Monakana's 29 points being the key to the Cavs downing Ipswich despite another solid outings from Harriet Welham (21pts, 10reb, 7ast, 3stl, 26eff) and Jahveina Whyte (24pts, 10reb, 5ast, 32eff).
Debra Wilson-Osuide has started the season in great form for CoLA and was at it again this weekend, her 19-point haul on 70% shooting was another performance worthy of potential recognition
