    Go Chefs

Take off on an Andy Reid commercial. Go Dallas Texans. They do have a pretty good Texas QB these days.

Dan Campbell could have played Sixman

I'd read about him playing HS football at Glen Rose. I didn't know he actually lived between Walnut Springs and Morgan. At 6'5" then he would have been a monster in sixman. But it seems his parents thought he needed a (little) bigger stage to get that scholarship at A&M. Go Lions...

    Merry Christmas Y'all.

I figure Rudolf is in the air by now, headed our way.

    Threepeats.

Individual or team. First, as a team did Fort Hancock or marathon do this years ago? Individually, TE won 3 state championships but not back to back to back. As he and others call him, Chaka has done that this year with the opportunity for a fourpeat if that all holds together. Something...

    Newcastle #2 in DII?

I can hear the screaming, gnashing of teeth, someone yelling "your nutty as a fruitcake" (Merry Christmas to you all too). I realize the final rankings are based on rating, strength of schedule, won-loss record and? I know they lost to overall #7 Jonesboro early in the season by 12 and almost...

    Klondike Texas

Under the radar? Where are they? There are two of them, one in east Texas and one in west Texas. The one in west Texas is S of Lamesa, S/W of Gail. It has a school and a church. With a population of 20 in 2000, it was classified as a ghost town. Quite an accomplishment thus far this year.

    Washington Senators win World Series

I never thought I'd see this. David Clyde probably had a heart attack if he was still alive. Houston had the Astros and built the 8th wonder of the world, an enclosed airconditioned stadium, the Astrodome. Astoturf was born. Dallas/Fort Worth had to have a professional team too. They bought...

    District/Playoff's

Any games left this week that will determine the district champs. How about a playoff spot for # 2? I know of one.

    Walt Garrison has passed away.

Sad news to me. A true hero of mine. Got his autograph in about 1970-71-72 at a HEB ISD Coaches vs Dallas Cowboys charity BB game. Again in Hico on a Sixman Super Saturday T-shirt, along with a picture with his arm over my shoulder. Anyone who loves football should read "Once a Cowboy"...

    Bears

For all the Bears out there. Balmorhea, Gold-Burg, Baylor, Chicago. Don't forget your jock strap. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/bear-accidentally-hits-itself-in-the-nuts-messing-with-outdoor-water-tank/ar-AA1hBir5?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=9c20f404265c4c51a1b62556247f8a24&ei=34

    Older Elk

IDK if he's still out there, with us. I've not seen him post this year, maybe last. He was a Baylor fan or graduate? If you see this friend enjoy the last 2 minutes of this 4 minute video, from when the Bears were down 35 - 10 with 12 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

    Borden County - Abbott

Just a question. Looking at the broadcast page I didn't see anything about this game at 6:00 Thursday in Gordon. I thought BC at least used to (?) broadcast their games through a school website. Looked at it and googled Borden County football broadcast, nada. Checked 1Afan, 1 off week 6 for...

    Other Potential "Good" Games?

Lot's of 45's predicted this week per the spreads. Happens every year as the season progresses. Looking at Mike's top games, they are just that. Mostly between those in the top 50 -60 in the rankings. Looking through the rest of the spreads I saw a few that could be good ones, if important...

    Heads Up on Strawn-Gordon

It seems at some point this game has been changed from Friday at 7:30 to Saturday at 7:00. Or the original schedule from before the start of the season I found on the Strawn FB facebook page was wrong. I just went back and found it. It still says 7:30 on Friday. But the spreads page and both...

    Gil Brandt

If any one person is responsible for the Cowboys becoming known as America's Team it was Mr. Brandt. He found the players that no one else did that made them what they were. Charlie Waters, Bullet/Crow Bob Hays, Walt Garrison, so many more...

    Numero Uno

Haven't seen Gordon in that position in many years. Congratulations Eddie G, you old hound, and a few other former neighbors. To the team and coach Reed, I remember when he taught and coached at Strawn. Before Rule and Throckmorton.

Chuck Howley - 50 years after last game.

For any other older guys who remember watching him play in the latter 60's and early 70's. With Bob Lilly presenting, to Chuck's son. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/watch-chuck-howley-is-enshrined-into-the-pro-football-hall-of-fame/ar-AA1eQeyu

    White Deer is Six-Man now . . .

Reading about Zack Thomas going into the NFL Hall of Fame I remembered him going to Texas Tech and thought I remembered he was a pan handle native. So I went looking. When I saw he started HS in White Deer I thought, I never remember hearing or reading of him playing six-man. As the link...

    Robert Lee "cutting sports"?

That's what the superintendent says, "we're cutting academic programs, we're cutting sports". He doesn't say all sports, or which sports (or programs). A troubling story. I guess it could play out this way in other sixman towns...
