NBL D1 Recap (8/9 Nov 2025) - results, stats, streams and more

There was plenty of high-quality action across the D1M weekend, including a first loss of the season for BCU and a one-point thriller for both the Sheffield teams, Arrows and Sharks II.

Manchester moved into the race for top spot in Pool A as they beat BCU behind a standout effort from Aaron Bile, whilst Solent and Barking both kept the heat on Barnet in Pool B as the Bulldogs' unbeaten streak stayed alive for another week.

Standout performances

Whilst Pool B leaders Barnet may have survived the weekend unscathed, it took a 22-7 fourth quarter to do it as they broke open their game against Cobham late before winning 86-69.

Birmingham's winning start to the season is over after they suffered a bad day at the office, going down 89-60 away to Manchester Magic. Limited to 30% shooting against Magic's 47%, the visitors came unstuck during a 24-8 second frame and never found a way back from there.

Worcester, Myerscough and Sheffield Arrows all kept the heat on the top two in Pool A with further victories, though the Wolves did need a period of OT to see off a dogged Liverpool 81-74.

Likewise, Solent (96-55 vs Richmond) and Barking (81-57 vs London Elite) both picked up key W's in the race for top spot in Pool B, keeping Barnet on their toes in the process.

Sheffield Arrows and Sheffield Sharks II both came through nail-biters in two of the weekend's most exciting games, with the Arrows surviving a late Kieran Jones shot to escape St Helens with an 88-87 victory, whilst the Sharks missed four late free throws to still hang on and beat Leicester 72-71.

What does it mean for the standings?

BCU remain top of Pool A despite their first loss, but Manchester can leapfrog them if they can capitalise on their games in hand.

Barnet remain unbeaten and are top dogs in Pool B, with Solent, Barking and CoLA all keeping tabs further back.

Teesside and Oxford both remain winless, as do London Elite at the bottom of Pool B.

Player-of-the-week candidates

With plenty of games across the weekend, that means more than a few worthy contenders for this week's awards.

Sharks' Oscar Baldwin (19pts, 20reb) put up a big double-double in the one-point win over Leicester and Greenwich's Isaac Temilola (21pts, 19reb) did the same in the Titans' narrow loss to London Lions II.

Young forward Toby Gass (16pts, 10reb) was the standout for CoLA this week, and Andre Arissol (13pts, 6ast, 5reb, 4stl) was the pick of the bunch in Solent's one-sided win over Richmond.

Earl Burgess (24pts, 7reb) remains in red-hot form for Worcester as Manchester's Aaron Bile (20pts, 7reb), Barnet's Sable Cooper (30pts, 7reb) and Cobham's Charlie Ollis (28pts, 5reb) all put themselves in the mix.

As is becoming somewhat of a theme, Sheffield Arrows also put forward another worthy nomination in the form of Diogo Soares (30pts, 7reb, 5ast), who cancelled out a strong showing from St Helens' Disraeli Lufadeju (29pts).

Watch out for the winner on our social channels, with the announcement going live at 5pm on Monday evening.
