Standout performances

A Chloe Hinett dagger with 30 seconds to go was the decisive blow as Bristol grabbed a statement 55-54 win against CoLA, stealing a game that Pride led from tip to the last moments of regulation time.

There were multiple lead changes in the fourth quarter of Worcester's 68-67 win over London All Stars, with the Wolves hanging on to grab their third win of the season.

Ipswich had no problem handing another loss to Loughborough, coming through as 85-64 winners behind 31 points from Harriet Welham. There was no homecoming for former Ipswich duo Hannah Gray and Louisa Gibbins, though, as both were pressed into WSLB action for the Riders instead.

A 25-17 third quarter helped Manchester past London Cavaliers, with the 72-66 final score providing the Mystics with another win, vaulting them into the title conversation in the process.

What does it mean for the standings?

A loss for CoLA isn't enough to knock them off top spot, though their second L of the season now puts them level with Ipswich (3-2), and leaves the door open for Manchester (4-1), Brent (4-1) and Worcester (3-1) to move ahead if they can win their games in hand.

Loughborough's winless start to the season continues, with their gap to safety currently at 4 points, as they make up the bottom two with Bromsgrove.

WNBL Division One Standings

Player-of-the-week candidates

Harriet Welham's 31-point, 11-rebound double-double for Ipswich was more than enough to down Loughborough, vaulting her into POTW contention in the process.

Hinett's heroics for Bristol caught the eye, but it was forward Sammy Roscoe (9pts, 9reb, 5ast, 4blk, 3stl) that stuffed the stat sheet for the Flyers, whilst Worcester's Ciani Montgomery (35pts, 9reb) was on fire for the Wolves in London.

Mrashi Karumba-Roberts (19pts, 15reb) and Chinwe Iwunze (20pts, 13reb) were both solid for London Cavaliers, but it couldn't get them a win against Manchester's Success Odemwingie (11pts, 6reb, 6stl) and Alexandra Hernandez (16pts, 4reb).

Watch out for the winner on our social channels, with the announcement going live at 7pm on Monday evening.

WNBL National Cup

The WNBL National Cup field has been trimmed once again, with another dose of action on Sunday afternoon.

Ipswich's defence is over after a Tia Freeman-inspired 91-74 victory for Anglia Ruskin, with the former Essex standout scoring an impressive 32 points.

Brent Bulls hammered Slough Cobras 119-31, and Manchester Mystics had similar ease knocking off Cardiff Met Archers, 105-54 thanks to 33 points from Chloe Andrew.

D1W's bottom two, Bromsgrove and Loughborough, both enjoyed wins as the Bears beat D2 Tees Valley Mohawks 63-56 and the Riders enjoyed the return of Gibbins and Gray to defeat Worcester 68-41.
